Great stuff Kelly! I'm thinking there should be a way to slide them floats out there from the bank, pull them in to check and slide them back out there. I don't like getting the water you know. ;D ~ADC~

I don't go on this site very often, but started reading your post and enjoyed it very much. Lot of hard work but sounded like fun also. Wish we had the rats like that around here. Nice job Kelly !

Hey Kelly
28" X 8.5" is kind of an odd size. Any particular reason for that size?
Also hopefully a helpful hint White foam board is generally open cell foam. Blue and pink board is closed cell foam. Closed cell will not absorb water where open cell will. Did you notice your floats sinking or getting heavy?

When the floats were sinking there was NO foam on them at all! Then I added the blue closed cell foam, which helped a ton.

Here are some pictures of other wildlife. This one is of Cormorants. This is of Pelicans and a few Cormorants. On the hillside just past the water all those white spots are Snow Geese-literally 1000's of them.

Hey Kelly,
Is a lot of the area flooded or is the water always that way?

Hey Kelly, Is a lot of the area flooded or is the water always that way? The water was a little bit high from the spring melt but otherwise this has been the normal water table level for almost a decade.

Great trip . What were you using for stakes and prefer inthe center or on one end? Thanks for sharing. Mostly fiberglass fence posts but some were the metal ones, too. Really, both worked well so can't make up my mind so far.

Hey Kelly, did the float thatwere painted black de-ice quicker than those that were unpainted? Couldn't really tell because by the time I got to use the unpainted ones it didn't freeze too many times, plus all of them were located near the end of my line so by the time I got there each day what ice there was was gone.
