I have a s--t load of address stickers for mailing. I want to know if I can use them for trap tags. I would make tags out of old cans and them stick the labels on. them wrap them inclear tape. I want to know if this would be legal. any feedback would be appreciated.

It might work until the first coon removed it. Don't know what the fine is for improperly tagged traps, but I think copper would be cheaper in the long run.

Not that it wouldn't work just a waist of time.just buy copper ones I agree..... trap tags are cheap,I feel it would be a waste of time to cut cans and tape them onto it.

I remember an incident where a CO checked a trapper who wasn't tagged up. The trapper was written only one ticket and the CO told him he could use address labels until he got his copper ones from Funke. I thought that was pretty cool of the CO.

In a pinch, I've used aluminum flashing cut into small rectangles and printed my name and address with a permanent marker. They worked. But, as soon as my engraved brass tags arrived in the mail I replaced the home made ones. The professional ones are worth the money.

X3. Had a few get chewed completely off. I've yet to lose a tag installed this way on my trap chains. Put it close to the end where it will be in the ground or water or close to it and wrap it around just one side of one link of chain. I'd only use the one described in the first post in a pinch, and replace them ASAP as was mentioned. These are the best tags I've ever found nice round ends and deep clear stamping ... traptags.com/~ADC~

Nice tags at a decent price. How about shipping charges ADC? I didn't see it on the web page. LLL

I usually call them with my credit card and have my tags in 3-4 days. The brass tags are even tougher than copper but I haven't had any trouble with the copper tags. ~ADC~

Although not completely the "legal" way, I also wrap a tag around my snare stakes. It has gotten me by a couple times when the tag was chewed off of the snare. I like to wrap them around the trap chains also like ADC. That seems to work about the best for me.
