Where can I find a current list of locations where it is illegal to carry? I had one on-line some time ago but I can't seem to locate it.

Pretty much going to be impossible to find that, with so many cities making their own laws, it's changing weekly.
Safest thinking is to assume all public owned buildings, like schools, court houses, city halls, universities, libraries, sheriffs office are off limits.
Private property is up to owner, even with sign if they ask you to leave and you do, I don't think any charges can be pressed.

Of course if they don't see it (concealed), they probably won't ask.

How about casinos? I recall seeing something about that at one time.

Took my class last week: Fed buildings, PD, schools, CASINOS to name a few. We were told the city/municiple laws are not enforcable due to they can not be more restrictive than the State law.... THAT specific question was asked and addressed.........FOLLOW THE STATE LAW. We were also told, that the signs in the windows, are mere "wishes" by the owners...........that if they do see you carrying and ask you to leave. YOU SHOULD LEAVE or you can be charged with tresspass. You are not breaking any law by CC onto a place that has a sign........unless it's one of the above mentioned, Fed bldg, schools.......etc Our instructor STRONGLY urged AGAINST OPEN CARRY, common sense to most, but there will no doubt be a few who won't use common sense.

I would add.........the places you are not to CC, we were told you aren't even ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY........not just "inside" the bldg. The Casino was an example used by our instructor.......he said, legally you are not to take off your CC and put it in the trunk while in the parking lot of the casino.........THAT is a no no. Best do it BEFORE you pull on to the property.

BB, local municipalities shouldn't be able to pass laws more strict than the state due to preemption law. Ottumwa started to last summer before it even took affect and their lawyer decided they couldn't and dropped it, apparently all these other cites' lawyers have a different opinion.
The little research I did on this it seems the Iowa preemption law has some flaws open enough for interpretation that they feel safe doing it. It's may be a fight you can win if caught violating the local rules but is it worth the $$.

The specific question was asked, paraphrasing: "while CC, driving down take your pick of hwy's you're driving through, pick your city:DSM, IA City, Omaha"........what about "city, local municipalities, having more restrictive laws regarding CC"" Our Officer, Instructor..........said ~as long as you follow the STATE LAW, you are fine. Omaha was mentioned because our IA CC is recognized in several other states, NE included......BUT you have to follow the STATE's laws that you are in physically.
If someone knows differently, please speak up. Thanks Rooster

We stopped in at the local Moose club last night, Yeah sometimes I'm that redneck, and noticed a handwritten note on the door. paraphrasing--"No Guns". We had just come from a very popular bar / restaurant in town with no notice on the door.
Probably has something to do with clientel?
Oh yeah, I forgot, At the Moose, there was the start of a girl fight right next to our table. Someone was gonna pop my son ,who had nothing to do with the rucus ,for smiling . LMAO.

Keep "it" CONCEALED and there should be no problem anywhere!
If someone does see it, they can ask you to leave and if you refuse, then they can charge you with Trespassing, that's it............
No big deal.....
