Level C roads in this area are behind locked gates. Is it legal to walk in on the road and trap the ROW on these C roads?
I know, ask my CO, but getting a hold of him is about as easy as pulling teeth.

Who has the keys to the gate? If the land owners have it I'd think its now private property, if the county has the key then it should be public. ~ADC~

County does. I'm assuming its legal, just thought maybe someone here had some experience with it.
I'll be calling my CO to clarify.

Be sure to let us know if he KNOWS the answer. If its legal then people should also be able to walk those ditches for hunting as well. Could be good info to know. They are some of the only overgrown areas around anymore to provide cover for critters.

I think that if it is a level b road to start and the farmer owns both sides of the road the farmer can fill out some sort of paper work and ask to take responsibility for the b level road then it becomes a c level I do not have any idea if it is still public or not would like to find out. Im not 100% on this and one is gone up a mile south of town and wondering to.

We had a b closed down here, all landowners agreed(2) and the cointy turns over the road to them. They had a public hearing at the board of supervisors for public input and the supervisors decided yes or no. The land owners were responsible for putting the gates in and were the ones with the keys. The road is closed to the public unless they have landowners permission. Made a few people mad but when the road ends and they make their own trail to the river and go wherever the hell they want and tear stuff up and leave beer cans and trash and sump stuff things need changed.

Thanks Hawkeye1486. Looks like I'll just have to gain permission. No big deal. I know of several that have bridges half way down the road that traditionally hold beaver colonies.
