What is the most productive set to use Boars Delight this time of season? Does it work well at no-freeze water sets or just dryland?

I've had much better luck with R fox glands, skunk, or castor on late season coon than I ever have a coon gland.
Only time I've had much success at all with coon glands was a lure I made a few years ago using only sow coon glands.

Some will say yes I will say NO. Like Dave said red fox urine is good. LLL

I use it only on land sets, fenderbass. Baited 220s, cage traps and put a few drops on the stake head I use to anchor my DPs if I'm still running any of those. Blackies Boars Delight is much different than other coon gland lures on the market (Marsyada is one I tried that I would call pee in a bottle). If I am 20 miles from home and discovered I forgot the BD, I'm turning around. Don't listen to RB or Larry. What do they know about trapping coon?! Seriously, I guess this discussion emphasizes the importance of lure/bait/trap/etc. confidence: if you don't think something will work, it usually will not work.

Oh, trust me Wayne. I though BD and others would work, and they do to a degree for me, but not as well as the others mentioned.

I guess the theory would be its a territorial/curiosity smell. May turn away some too. Hard to beat shellfish extreme at late water and loud skunky calls on land for me. Just wondered on set types. Ill experiment. Playing with different smells. lol.

If this helps I use Boars Delight in the summer to exclude coon families. It does work for that and usually works well. I don't like using something to attract the same animals that I know at a different time will repel them but like Wayne said what do I know about coon trapping or exclusion. LLL

I've had much better luck with R fox glands, skunk, or castor on late season coon than I ever have a coon gland. These work for me, and I have them and use them for other animals so they are in the lure box already. Dual use, what more could you want. Regular spring beav lure loaded with castor attracts, and has an odor that stays where you put it.
