I have been using the Ztrap, and I have seen 4 coons sleeping in a round ball with the ztrap attached. I had to wake them up to dispatch them, as their head was under the front arm. I also notice the same injury free front feet. The people that I demonstrate the ztrap to (while asking for permission to trap) get to see me with the ztrap on my finger, I don't think I would wanna snap the trap on my finger?? I am happy with the ztrap.

Marty, I have been hearing quite a few guys not satisfied with the spring strength in the Ztrap! I personally have not tried it but talk to dozens of trappers daily. Quite a few pull outs in the Ztrap. Guys are saying they can set the trap with one hand and grab a dead coon and just pull it out of the trap. I LOVE the stabilizer, the powder coat and the chain set up BUT weak springs off set all of that. Any word on this from others or plans on fixing it?

We have two dozen of the Z Traps, used them religiously this season and did not have one pull out this year in them and have been extremely pleased with their performance. We always made sure though that the coon could pull the stakes out of the ground. We did have one pull out yesterday though but that was in a Duke DP where the stake was froze in the ground.

I have bought a few dozen ztraps from Neal and have been pleased with them. I did get one doz of them that seemed to have some weaker springs. Had a couple pullouts. Can't blame it all on the trap though. I have noticed in the last couple weeks that the pullouts were from traps froze in the ground. I have tried several different traps and hafta say that I prefer the ztraps I have had just as many pullouts of Dukes as any other. After talking with Neal he told me that is one of the changes for next years trap. They will have a stronger spring. I will be buying more from him.

Got some stuff in the works.Never lost a coon in the in quite a while.I did have 1 water pull out in Duke double jaws.If I catch 30-40 coon a day I will lose one.In the water with all garbage and wire have way more pull outs.I never allow the coon to wrap and free spin.I don't talk to a lot of people but I have been told some people have had problems and those problems are being taken care of..I will have to see if I can yank a coon out of the trap.I have had several coon yanked out of the trap but they left the leg there.

I wish I had the camera. Not much on pictures on the line.I can barley get a new spot set everyday and check. Not going fast enough to wear a hole in my wader's though.About 10 more days of boring coon trapping and on to coyote and fox.I already caught 2 time more than my best numbers years.

Sorry but my wife asked me to spend Christmas at home with the family. I have taken 3 days off since prestaking began and 2 of those I know you took off too because of weather. The funny thing is Marty my traps are still working for me legally while I took a day off. Trust me today will be busy and I might even post a pic or two but probably not because I will be skinning. This Thread is getting to be a you vs. me thread. Honestly I am ok with having the ROW to myself and not having competition. LLL

From Santa I got some socks, a hooded sweatshirt, and some other cool stuff. No Levis because I didn't need them. I was going to ask if you got any pants, Larry, but I guess you already answered that. ;D Magic and Bird always had a big rivalry and I thought the competition made them even greater. I've always felt that self competition was the healthiest kind, for me anyway. I believe I spotted "Wilt" a couple days ago. Met a mid-sized truck with about 2 months of road dust covering it and coming through a little town red-lined. I noticed the rear bumper was nearly dragging on one side and the box was so full of wet coon I bet some were going to fall out! It wasn't even noon yet. I'm guessing there were at least a hundred coon in the back of his truck! BEFORE NOON! My action for Dec. 26... BTW, if I were a pro round baller, I'd be Spud!
