The title is the question. Mine is on 1/3 of regular piece of typing paper. There is an article in yesterdays Mt Pleasant newspaper where the Henry County Sheriff says the permit may not be copied and must be on your person. It also says he issued 250 permits last year. lmao It had to be in the last few weeks because he didn't issue me 1 when I applied. Now what kind of person could ever expect a piece of typing paper to last when carried on ones person for more than a few weeks? Let alone 5 years. Needs to be something done at the state level to provide a laminated card that will last.

Our county has a machine on order that will print a card much like a credit card. They should be available in about a month and will cost $5 . Should last as long as I do.

Some counties have been doing hard plastic cards for years, just going to take time for smaller counties to catch up. Laminate it yourself with some carton tape.

Is packing tape considered laminating? Just go back and get a new copy from them every year like we used to, you just paid for the next 5 years in advance.

I bet they will charge you some fee every time you go get a duplicate. I have heard at least one LE administrator suggest they use paper so people will have to get one replaced now and then and generate a fee. As much as I disagree with aspects of this concealed carry issue that is BS they should give you a decent card.
Preserve it and piss them off.

I keep mine folded up in the same envelope that my furhavester/small game license is in, which is in my wallet. So far I have had no reason to take it out, so no wear and tear. If I'm in the canoe, the wallet goes in my dry box.

When I got mine I came home put it in the copier and reduced it as far as it would reduce. Made it the same size as my drivers license. I figured no harm in that since the secretary at the sheriffs office said nothing about copying it and I figured the safest place for the original was the filing cabinet here at home. I too put it in the folder with my hunt fish furbearer license and put my drivers licence with them. Dunno if they are just giving us a hard time or what but if they weren't there sure wasn't much thinking going on issuing it that way. Have a good 1 just
