I'm glad I passed that long ago, I probably couldn't pass it now. As I recall it wasn't a real easy test. ~ADC~

Way to go Yogi! So do they make you take updating course later on? What is the cost to take the test? Yeah dfox. One thing good about being a proffesional mouse trapper, is that those mice are worth $35.00 now.

Yeah Joe they need to update the test a lil and I was told (jokely) it I say to much I might be the oneupdating the test. I thought there where a lot of open ended questions and one that we even had to look at the Iowa code (it was looking like I was right and the test was wrong). If you passed the test it was $25 and like Tom said $20 to renew.

"true or false removing a beaver dam would make the beaver leave the area I marked false but they wanted true" I missed that one too. My CO agreed I was right though. I'm surprised you missed the toothed trap question though. I'm sure we have talked about that on here. I can't recall what else I missed, but one on gestation period of squirrels. I don't know my score either but it wasn't 96%. ~ADC~

I must have missed the talk on there about the tooth trap but In the regs booket it reads "on land". that's the ? where we looked in the code and reads the same. it says nothing about in water

Good Job Yogi! I took and passed mine last wed. and I got an 89 I answered the same on the dam question. I know as well as anyone on here a beaver will have a field day in someones corn field repairing a dam. Maybe that is what they mean when they say they moved out

I remember in th mid 90's I did a little nuisance trapping, there was no test to take to get a license, but I had to send a report into the state at the end of the year. Wish I still had that license.

Is there a study guide for this test? Where are these test held? Thanks Contact the game warden for your county. They will provide you with the study guide and administer the test. At least that was how it was done 8-10 years ago when I got mine. ~ADC~

With the game warden we are supposed to have now, I doubt any one could pass her test and I hope she never knows I exist.

My CO also went to the "code". Glad it's behind me as well. Took the test in IL and have their license also, gets confusing at times remembering where I'm at and the different regs.

What does the NWCO label entitle you to? Licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control What it entitles me to is I got to dig a hole so I can drag beaver out of ditches and bury them instead of feeding them to back section fox and buzzards. All fur trapping laws must still be followed, no extended check or non-submerged big bodygrips, etc. If your officer is pretty good about writing case by case permits, that's a better way to go IMO. Congratulations to Yogi and LLLtrapper for passing the exams!
