which lock do you like and why? also how long have you been snaring?
I like the big adc bent washer lock or the cam lock. slides down fast on a non loaded snare plus the adc lock is a wider surface so not to have as much damage although I personally think there will be some type of damage to a snared coon...but not so much with a coyote or beaver..
just my thoughts.

Berkshire solid washer locks. We have used them for many years(20) and like them. They may not be the best but we like them and have not had to much fur damage.

Switched to all cam-locks, better locking and won't slip off like I was getting with other locks. All loaded snares these days too.
Been using a ton of different locks and cables over the years since I started snaring around 25 years ago.

Cam locks are the best. They are fast, lock up tight, less misses, very very few escapes, and reusable many times over. What is not to like? I hear people complain about the price of them often, but when you take into consideration how many times you can reuse each lock they are the cheapest on the market. I haven't been able to wear one out yet. I have been trapping for 29 years, snaring for 20 of those.

Cam locks here on a loaded snare also. I've tried numerous locks and nothing beats a cam lock. As for cost, with the higher catch ratio they just made themselves cheaper.

Mostly used quarter size washer locks, gona give the cam locks a try this year. Ben trapping for 19 years and snaring for 15.

Have used small washers, sure locks, mini locks. When I need to resupply I believe I will go with cam locks or the big ADC type. Used to snare a lot more than I do now, I have a few coffee cans full of used locks, whammy's and swivels.

Started trapping 26 years ago with a bike and a dozen snares. First catch was a coyote that I sold for $45 (probably got a deal since I was only 10 at the time), but Ive always used Berkshire Sure-Lock type.

I use micro locks, I like everything on my snares to be compact.

I may have to re-think my locks.
