4fur You are amazing beaver trapper. I have a quick question do you always have a live beavers in your snares when you get there or are some already dead.
Thanks, Coyoteboy

Thanks, Coyoteboy I can't think of too many snared beaver I've caught that were dead, coyoteboy. Ever. If I use a drowning set up I use footholds and I try to set snares in non-entanglement situations so the swivels aren't compromised. Beaver are really hard to choke down as opposed to an otter or bobcat even if you're trying, IMO.

Looks like you're finishing the season with a flurry, JD! Here is a before and after. Actually it's just a remake. It's set a a pinch point that is about the only spot within a couple hundred yards on this little creek where I can completely submerge a 330. Changed the loop size a little on a knocked down snare yesterday and did neck snare this big female today. Neck snaring beaver is about like neck snaring coon IMO: you tell me how tall the animal is and I'll adjust the size and height of the loop accordingly. lol. Of course beaver and coon both come in all different sizes!

4fur, today was just that, my final flurry for the year I pulled them up today. I heard a turkey gobble and saw a couple strutters this morning so its about time to focus on the birds for a while, after that it'll be about time to start getting trapping gear ready for next year......won't it?
