Would a #1.5 cs or a 1.75 cs be an all around trap for coon/coyote?

I would go with a #2 Montgomery Round Jaw or something that size...although a 1.75 round jaw coil would be good for either species

1.75 should be a very good compromise if you need traps for both species and can't afford two different sizes. Lots of both those critters have been caught in 1.75 sized coilsprings.

Best multi species trap.......snare. x2. Just make sure you get snares good enough for the coyotes, a good cam lock. Have been hammering the coons and coyotes this late season with snares, way out performing the buckets for me.

I asked this question because where I am it would probably be a coon, but decent chance could be a coyote. Hate to miss the dog. I really appreciate the answers, advice, and just general interest you guys give to help a fellow out. I find asking questions on some of the big sites lead to more questions about "my smarts'. I'm just an old boy trying to get along, Thanks.

Would a #1.5 cs or a 1.75 cs be an all around trap for coon/coyote? I started out using 1.75 Victors, they are a good all around trap. But if you want to use them on coon I recommend buying the regular jaw version, the offset version I used didn't hold coon worth a hoot. They WILL hold Coyotes quite well.

#2 seems to work even if they tear up my coyote set
