Last night had 2 pull-outs from Bridger DPs. My only 2 Bridgers and my only 2 pull-outs. Any thoughts?

I'm only running a dozen of tye bridgers since the start of season and no pull outs out of them yet. The rain we got would of washed away any blood around here if they were stolen. My only complaint with them is the piece that that attaches the chain to tye stabilizer won't easily slide up when placing them in the ground.

That is the problem that I see with them . I havrnt had any pull outs with the 3 doz i have been useing. I can see it happening though. The "swivel" at the bottom acts more like a lock. Makeing the swivel useless. IMO

Both were stretched out to end of cable. Blood on one and hair on other. Will pay attention to swivels, that surely could be the reason. I was very surprised with a pull-out. Never before.

only one pull out on the bridgers I am using. I was lucky I had the pistol cocked and was able to hit him on the run, and he holed up in a root overhang where I was able to get him out.

I had this happen to me about a week ago. What kind of stakes are you using? I have been using Berkshire HD stakes for the past 3 years. I couldn't believe it happen saying they are so hard to get out of the ground. There was proof something had been caught on the trap because of the markings left behind. Still not sure exactly what happened but that day I checked every single stake to make sure I couldn't pull them out!

Ive had pull outs w/ the Bridger and every other DP as well, they happen.
ADC is dead on, that swivel on the stake of the Bridger blows.

I have been really lucky this year, I have 4 dozen of the bridger DP's and not had any pull outs. I check the swivel daily on them to make sure it's not locked up. As everyone else has said it's not the best and gets stuck pretty easily.

No pull-out this year and I can't remember one last year when I ran a butt load of DPs because of the drought and mild temps in January. I try not to set where the coon can not get a hold of something for leverage but that isn't always possible. I think how much bait is very important to solid foot catches: Bait under the trigger in push/pulls like the Zs and just covering the trigger in the Dukes, Bridgers and LGs.

most of the time I quick link my DPs to a large fencing staple pounded into a tree on a well used trail and never had any pull outs...lucky I guess from the sounds of it...I have Ztraps and Freedom brand.

Have been thinking about Freedom Brand. How do you like them?

How much cable you adding? In my experience, if you add cable to about any DP, your pullouts go up. Keep em short...Your too far north and have too big of coon to me adding any length to the chain. How do the spring strength of those Bridgers feel? They don't get stronger with age. My pullouts always came from dukes with added chain length. I cut em back.

Legend and Calvin, I will try both your tips. Thanks.

Freedom brand seem ok...I would not put anything sticky inside as bait as it seems the trigger assembly is a little more complicated...coons can't slap at the dog and trip the trap at least but my personal preference are the Ztraps but everyone will have their own favorites.

And I agree with Calvin to keep it short...adding cable with give em a chance to lunge and pull out.
