What is Iowa's law on trapping from boat on Iowa streams and rivers. Do you have to have permission to trap the banks if you put your boat in on a public ramp? I have heard some say that the owner owns to the middle but we can trap road ditches which kind of contradicts that. Thanks.

meanderedmap.pdf (500.17 KB) You can trap the banks of meandered rivers. non-meandered rivers you need permission from the landowner. That is a picture of the rivers you CAN trap.

...I second the low water. You need a jet boat.

What river? The rivers are so low anyone running them will be grinding off a $250 prop daily! Sand eats them up faster than rock.

Not if you have a fan. I need to get one of those. I just don't want a bunch of ticked off deer hunters for being too loud!

is that a aluiminuim prop? id so you would ruin it in the river, you would think they would put a stainless prop on them,i like a small motor so you dont wreck the lower unit and prop, i had a 18 hp with a brass blade, no longer do

this year it may have more benefit to leave the trailer attached to the boat so you can get "downstream" better

Probably 10 4wheelers for every boat on the Boyer river around here. Found 1 place where beavers have a dam across whole river, water behind dam only knee deep. Should be a good place to shoot a woody next weekend.
