For the record, 6hpmarty was the first who told me about the golf balls and I mentioned the idea to Larry. Was the idea original, Marty? Thank you Wayne but I cannot take the credit as I was told by The Ztrap staff about the golf balls and eggs. Now they have the Zcaps, and I use them but still have a lot of golf balls to get rid of. If anyone has doubts about the Zcaps look up the videos at the web site www.ztraps.com There is a couple of very informative videos as well as int ructions for proper use of the Ztrap and the Zcaps. I was told by an original tester of the z cap and he told me they could not get it off or had problems with them. LLL

Once the mice locate your DP it becomes a food source. Golf balls are too light and mice knock them off. I am having my best luck with a rock on top of the DP or a corn cob stuck into the DP. Cob is too cumbersome for the mice to pull out but coon have no problem with it.

I have not had 1 trap cleaned out this year? Not 1!! Every golf ball knocked off, has the bait still in the trap. None of my Zcaps had been knocked off unless I had a coon in the trap. It is also much easier to find the Zcap as it doesn't go very far from the trap. My golf balls will roll a long ways down a steep creek bank!! Last year I was trying to smear bait scent on the golf balls and I lost 2 out of 4 dozen. I was told by an old man that coon will walk off and eat their "prize" away from where they found it. Old wives tale I don't know. I did stop trying to scent the golf balls and have not lost any to carry offs. But the numbers are way done on catches and I have way more sets out so I am still gathering data. This is the second year I have trapped using only Ztraps. I just haven't found the big score of coon this year, last year seamed so much easier to get coon?

LLL was this cap you are talking about, the Zcap that is being sold now, or a prototype that was being tested? Check out the Ztrap web site and you can watch a coon work the Zcap off in 6-10 seconds! That seams pretty good to me. Keeps mice out and easily lets coon in. What is wrong with that?

Out of 6doz. traps I had my first golf ball knocked off and the bait stole by a mouse. Three weeks into season and have only had 1 mouse stolen bait. I really can't complain about that. Maybe some of you negative Nates can but I don't think that is too bad!!

Monday morning I had a coon in that same trap. Now this morning (Tues.) the golf ball is no where to be found and all the bait is still in the trap???

I thought it was my highschool golf coach trying to teach me to hit a ball out of a ditch but its you guys that keep teeing up all those golf balls for me. Thanks its really helped my stance but that metal pipe you've been using is wrecking my clubs in the future you should use a tee like in the Diagram Attachments:

i agree with gene on this but my agreement is with limited experience, have caught just over 30 coon this year out of 13 duke dog proofs and am using corn mixed with cherry oil, works very well for me. the corn is heavy enough i don't think the mice are the problem but the squirrels so i mixed in some dry cat food and even if the corn is gone the cat food mixed with cherry oil still does the trick
