Had to make an unscheduled pit stop at home to grab a few supplies and to WARM UP. Wow it is cold! Cold temps like these present bait, lure and energy drink (left in the cab over night) management problems for me but the fur is cooperating so far... And no skunk or possum (yet).

No fur in my buckets, they are drifted full of snow. Think I will give them a short break and regroup.

Wayne...your fur all looks dry. I thought you said you were a water trapper. I guess the water is probably pretty hard with 2 degree air over it...eh.
Looks like you're still going strong. Your forecast calling for snow tonight/tomorrow? Ours says 6-8" over the next 24-30 hours and bitterly cold. Sure am glad I will be indoors in a pool tournament all weekend. Gives me more incentive to keep winning...keeps me in-out of the eliments.

Water is just about all locked up here now. Did have one in a pocket set today... But had a few more like this one where I gave up fighting the ice and pulled... Hate to pull because I know that trap will never catch anything in the back of my truck. Water caught coon are a real pain to deal with when it is this cold, too. This coon had a 5# iceberg on his back and the rest of him was frozen too much by the time I had remade the set to squeegee much water from the fur before it completely froze. I put these coon in a 6 gallon bucket which keeps them from sticking to equipment and the bed of my truck. Bucket then goes to the basement to thaw and dry the coon. I had one coon in a cage today and the rest were 220ed. BTW, cold weather makes you cringe seeing this... Did the coon run early and is now a cement block? Did they come running out of the creek and now their wet corpse is frozen to the ground? I had one coon run across the road in front of me at 5 a.m. when it was 2* and shined a bridge shortly after to see a big ring tail bounding right past my two empty traps. A coon caught after I run my line is going to be a cement block by tomorrow when I'll run my line later in the day! Never have I seen coon run so late at night as this season! Anyone else notice this?

Good day yesterday with 10 coon including 1 badly rubbed and a pretty small one. Not going to get skunked today either as I had a coon at each of my first stops and a coyote bouncing around right down the road... This boar has absolutely no tail, freshly docked... Looks like the snow is going to miss us again!

Looks like I know the direction to head for the last of the season. On my southern areas there are 2-3" of snow. LLL

Looks like the start of another pick up load for me!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't be hooking onto the tailer, Lil G! But in the three days since you were here I have carpeted some of the drive way, including 6 today. I don't think the temps have even gotten out of the teens!...

The coyotes are on the move but with 3 mangy ones to one good one not worth my time anymore. The Great Flood chased all the coyotes off the bottom into the hills, I think. They spread the mange and killed all the fox. This will be the first in many years that I have not caught one fox! Maybe Kyle can pleat the tail on this one to make in look bushier like his mink ;D...

I agree with skunked...that's a great pic of Bailey and that cat. That's one to remember...one to show at her wedding...that'll let her 'man' know what he's really getting into. Of course, he'll probably be a trapper anyway.
I really appreiciate all the pic's...gets the blood boiling here.
Thanks...Ken

It is a very good picture considering I have broke my new camera already and the view finder screen resembles a a cross between a lava lamp and a Picasso abstract. We finally had some snow here, the first since December 8th. I only had one coon two nights ago. He ran after the snow and sported a freshly docked tail and had about 8" of rectum or gut dragging from his behind... One nice thing about snow is even I can read sign! Here is today's group shot... I had 3 degrees on my truck thermometer this morning.

Nice fox IT! I sucked today and am not very hopeful about tomorrow despite some fantastic coon trapping weather and the moon. F&T screwed up my order last week and sent me a gallon of what i think is bobcat pee in a salmon oil jug! I notified them and the replacement jug arrived today... Anyone else have any problems with F&T.
